A tremendous £3000 was raised for Sumud Palestine to forward to the JAI Keep Hope Alive Olive Tree Campaign.
It was the best of a summer day! Hosting 30 people in four one-hour slots to meet Covid-19 requirements, turned out to be a bonus. It allowed visitors to flow freely around the garden, the plant sale, and the cake stall.
‘Thank you, dear all of you who were able to come to the Open Garden,’ wrote helper Fi Paton. ‘And all who made cakes and devoured the cakes – they were extra delicious – bought plants/ sold plants/brought plants, directed parking, helped to spread the word far and wide and all those who helped in many other ways. Without you all we could never have reached the amazing, record breaking, sum of £3000!’
For a farmer in the West Bank to know that supporters far away have raised money to buy olive trees to replace those vandalized by settlers or the Israeli Defence Force, does indeed help to keep hope alive.
THANK YOU CINA, JIM AND ALL YOUR HELPERS.
