Nidal Abuzulf, Manager of the JAI, wrote to say: ‘It is with heavy heart I need to inform you that my great journey with JAI has come to an end. I will be officially leaving on March 1st, 2024. The new JAI director will be our colleague Muhanad Al-Qaisi who used to be the Coordinator of the Olive Tree Campaign. Muhanad’s email is olivetree@jai-pal.org
Working at the JAI for around 15 years has been quite an experience that enriched my global knowledge and engagements.
It was so nice working with you as partners and friends. Thank you for the time given and exerted to show the support for the JAI advocacy work, for making my responsibilities go easy and for the great solidarity you have also shown to our people in their struggle for freedom and just peace. This is very much appreciated.
I will always be pleased to remain in contact with you. After March 1st, I can be contacted at nidalabuzuluf1@gmail.com
Replying, Angela commented: That retirement from a job to which one has given such unstinting service is hard and she wondered if it is made better or worse by the present situation in Gaza.
Nidal replied: Thanks for your email and the word of support. In our policies at the YMCA and YWCA one needs to leave office at the age of 65. So, I had to leave and give the opportunity to another younger person. I will for sure remain in Palestine and in Beit Sahour in particular. I will also be engaged in advocacy campaigns of Palestine and serve in some organizations as a volunteer. I am now negotiating with an organization to work for them as a part-timer in a relevant area. We will see.
Thanks for keeping up support for the Olive Tree Campaign. This is very much appreciated.
