Destruction of olive trees continues

15 January 2013 by admin in Blog

On Wednesday night, 21 November, settlers from the Israeli settlement of Carmel, south of Hebron Hills, uprooted most of the 400 olive trees planted by the campaign earlier in 2012. This is a common occurrence. To keep hope alive more trees will be planted.

Commenting on the sparse media coverage of the march in London to protest the recent onslaught on Gaza the Keep Hope Alive campaign organiser, Baha Hilo, said:

We are thankful to each and every one of the 10,000 marchers, media is not where we get our hope from, but from the voices and efforts put forward by you and the many others who work tirelessly for a just solution of the people of Palestine.

To date Sumud Palestine has raised £7338.29 and disbursed £2262.50 to the JAI Keep Hope Alive Campaign.  An application for charity registration is being processed.
