Keswick Peace and Human Rights Group

14 March 2014 by admin in Blog

Keswick Peace and Human Rights Group invited Mohammed Mukhaimar to introduce ‘5 Broken Cameras’ as part of the KPHRG’s contribution to the Keswick Film Festival.

About 60 people gathered at the Keswick Theatre on a Sunday morning and notwithstanding the time of day the film made its usual impact. The film always generates a huge desire by audience members to “do something” but this is often accompanied by a sense that “it’s all too complicated.”

Not everyone feels confident taking action to support the BDS campaign or taking time to write to their MP and MEP. We must find ways to ways to make this simpler and engage more people, especially through letter writing. MPs seldom lead, they follow! A bulging postbag would demand their attention.

The following evening BBC4 screened the film so anyone who has missed it so far can easily catch up by logging on to BBC iPlayer.
